Volunteer Vine Stripping

Call for volunteers! The vineyard is looking good this year, with lots of great-looking grapes growing. But we need to remove the leaves from around the bunches of grapes so they get as much sunlight as possible on them, to help them ripen.

This activity, called leaf-stripping, is definitely an example of ‘many hands makes light work’, and we are looking for volunteers to come and spend a few hours helping us out. It should be a sociable day that is suitable for most levels of fitness – it is not particularly arduous, although some bending is involved. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Time: 9am – 3pm, although not a problem if people need to leave earlier.

Please bring: gloves if you have them (we will provide if not), water bottle. Long trousers are suggested in case of nettles, but are not essential. Wellies/boots are sensible as the grass is often wet first thing.
