KITCHEN GARDEN IN DEVON

Our kitchen garden is a small but important part of life at Heron Farm. It’s where you’ll find herbs, salads, fruit and vegetables growing through the seasons, many of which are picked just moments before they reach the kitchen.

We can’t grow everything we use just yet, but everything we grow, we use – a philosophy that guides the way we cook. Beyond the kitchen garden, thanks to the vision of Heron Farm’s founder, food writer Mark Diacono, the 17-acre farm is home to an extraordinary collection of edible plants, from medlars, quinces and pecans to Sichuan pepper, alongside around 3,000 vines of Solaris, Seyval Blanc and Pinot Noir.

Take a wander around the farm and you’ll discover ingredients growing in every corner, many of which you’ll spot on the menu or in your glass.
